1. God hates pride.

“These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look…” (Proverbs 6:16-17; see also Proverbs 8:13).

2. Pride causes contention.

“Pride leads to arguments; those who take advice are wise” (Proverbs 13:10, New Living Translation).

3. Pride leads to destruction.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).
